Dear Editors,
I have been reading Raphael Rubinstein’s recent piece, ‘To Rest Lightly on the Earth’ (Art in America, Feb. 2012) which is the sequel to his 2009 article ‘Provisional Painting’. It is indeed most interesting and timely, and has a special significance for me as I have long followed one of the artists who remain unnamed in the text. It is, therefore, a pleasure to write a letter of appreciation rather than one of disagreement, as is often the case in these instances...
